MyScore.com offers different options to choose their basic, premier or ultimate membership package. This is nice because you get to decide what you’re paying for. They have options where you can get your Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports and scores. Also, they offer unique services that include 24/7 roadside assistance and pro-rewards where you can get access to coupons, gift vouchers, free products and more.

The Bad

They do not offer identity theft protection, and you have to pay an extra $4.95 if you want it. Even though they have packages to choose from, any other basic services like monthly score updates are not added. So, you need to make sure you realize what you’re not getting from their packages.

In addition, we receive more customer complaints about them than any other company we review. They seem to make it very hard to cancel your service. The email address is also difficult to find. We’ve listed it here for your convenience: info@myscore.com.

The Bottom Line

This credit score provider offers different perks than many other credit score companies. If you call in for assistance and really make sure you get what you want from their service then it could really benefit you, but be conscious of the price and the difficult cancellation. You might have extra monthly fees for adding services on that aren’t already included.

With that said, we do not recommend them because of their very high number of customer complaints.

Why it’s important

Customers should understand that this company, and its affiliates, have the ability to change or end any of the services they offer at any time, without any warning.  If you continue to use the service after the changes, then you are indirectly consenting and you are subject to the new terms.

Why it’s important

Members give this company the right to automatically charge their card at the beginning of every billing period. Be aware that there are automatic payments that will be taken from your account and you are responsible for overdrafts with your bank, if they take place. This is common practice in the credit reporting industry. They will also divide the fee into smaller fees that equal the total and process them separately if there are insufficient funds.

MyScore.com also reserves the right to changes fee amount at any time, and if you don’t cancel then you are confirming that you are ok with the fee change and you will be charge like normal at your registration anniversary date.

“Member Term

This section states that they can change the length of service of your contract at any time and if you don’t cancel then you consent to the changes and accept them. You will be automatically billed with the new changes in place when the new billing period begins.

Membership dues are fully refundable for thirty (30) days following the initial enrollment unless otherwise contracted. Why it’s important

The states that members can cancel at any time and members can get a full refund for up to thirty days after you sign up. This is a nice feature. Many other companies do not allow refunds for cancellation.

    Terrible company. I signed up and called to cancel the same day. I got an email from them about the call but I didn’t read it because I figured it would say that I had cancelled. One month later I get two emails from them saying that my credit card was declined. Called to cancel again and they said they would cancel it. The Customer service people are morons. Went back to look at the email and it turns out rather than canceling my account the first time, like I asked, they gave me a free month. And charged me $1 for the privilege. Sure hope it took this time and I’m glad I have no money in the bank.

    Through Peanut Labs, I signed up for MyScore.com for a FREE trial for 7 days that would give me my 3 credit scores immediately and I would receive via Peanut Labs from MyScore 360 gems to use on Pogo.com. They welcomed me with email; I confirmed. They only gave me ONE credit score, billed my credit card $1 and denied any knowledge of Peanut Labs. I never received the gems. They reported to Peanut that I was not signed up. (I still have all their mail). They have the same offer via Peanut today. I canceled within 7 days. All my complaining did was receive an email saying they would refund my $1. Haven’t seen that yet, either. Collected TONS of personal information and then proved themselves to be a scam.

    BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND IT’S PRACTICES. IT IS WORSE THAN THE PEOPLE THEY TRY TO PREVENT ACCESSING YOUR CREDIT. THEY’VE NOT ONLY MADE FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON MY CREDIT CARD, BUT ONCE YOU TRY TO CALL THE PHONE NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHARGES ON YOUR CARD’S STATEMENT, THEIR COMPUTER LOGS THAT NUMBER, “YOURS”, AND BLOCKS IT FROM ACCEPTING ANY FUTURE CALLS TO DISPUTE IT. EVEN THEIR WEB-SITE’S CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. THEN YOU ARE BLOCKED FROM CONTACTING THEM AND I HAVE ACTUALLY HAD TO CANCEL 2 CREDIT CARDS NOW, AND PAY THOSE FEES TOO, JUST TO “GET AWAY FROM THEM”. sO NOW, THEY SHOW I AM A MEMBER BUT CANNOT ACCESS THE COMPANY THAT AM SUPPOSED TO HAVE HIRED TO PROTECT ME FROM PEOPLE JUST LIKE THEM.     Signed up for free trial. Didn’t get welcome email until day later. Thinking that was the official start of my trial period I called on day 7 to cancel. Both the frontline worker and the supervisor said that they began the period once my registration information was submitted. Not sure how they expect that to work when my email confirmation needed to get in the account didn’t arrive until the next day. Tried to amicably resolve the dispute but Nikki the supervisor was quite rude and unwilling to listen.

    Figured I’d put this down as well. I just now got off the phone with a woman named Jackie from their customer service line. 10 out of 10 for her as a person and for the service she provided. She was able to tell me my account had been canceled as I wanted, and she was able to answer my question about my account on the website still being active after I had canceled. It takes them up to 48 hours to purge said account, if case you’re wondering.

    My advice to anyone having these problems, be persistent. Apparently they do have good people working their phones, from home, which could explain the long wait times. One woman I spoke to had a smoke alarm in the background with a low battery. But, if you draw the right straw, you’ll be taken care of.

    Worst comes to worst, file a report with the BBB. Even when the BBB has found it to be the filers fault, MyScore has ponied up a refund, maybe out of fear of someone digging more deeply into their practices.

    To those who are still having these problems, good luck.

    A few tips for people having problems. First, call them early. They start taking calls at 8:00AM, Eastern time. I called at 7:30AM Mountain time, or 9:30AM Eastern time, and I wasn’t on hold for more than a minute.

    Second, the one dollar charge really is only to verify the account. It will drop off on its own, at least according to my bank.

    Third, you can change the information in your account to ensure they cant take anymore money from you. At least, I think so. I changed some stuff, and the customer service rep couldn’t find out who I was until I used the fake information.

    Last, if you cancel your account within the trial like I did, your bank will have your back. If not, then you’re going to end up having to eat the charge, because by the letter of the contract you entered by making the account, you allowed that charge. Anything else after the moment you cancel that account can be claimed as a fraudulent charge and they will fight for you.

    I do hope this can help at least one of you. I live off around sixty dollars a month, so I know more than most what it’s like to have even one dollar taken from you that you didn’t have in the first place.

    I tried to cancel during the trial period. The contract said it can only be cancelled “in writing”. Right. I have searched far and wide to find an address and none exists. Nothing in the membership area; nothing anywhere on the net.

    Can anyone help me. I am currently traveling in Europe and will not spend the $$ to call the cs # for the reasons referred to above.

    This website is a fraud. They advertise that your credit report and score “are totally free” yet give you no way to obtain that. What in the f. . . is your address, assh. . . .!

    WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

    I had the worst experience dealing with the customer service. I don’t know why but this month when I signed in to the system, I was unable to see my report. The report options are with question marks asking to pay for it, but I’ve already been charged every month(and i was able to review the score in past months.) There’s no error message anywhere on the website, so I figured out that I should call the support team to find out why this happened.

    First I spoke with a nice person who said “oh you need to do a manual activation. Don’t worry, I’ll transfer you to another department. The activation is simple” Then, the second guys was pretty rude. Not helpful at all. He said things like “I wish I know why it’s not working, but I don’t know.” “You’re only able to review the score once. Maybe when you first signed in, there was a system error. But I don’t know. I have no idea what’s wrong.” He just kept looping these non-sense instead letting me know what I should do, then I gave up. I told him that I wanted to cancel the service since I paid but not able to see anything.

    You know what happened next? He hung up the call right away!! Without saying anything to me! I had to call back and confirmed with other agent and confirmed that he did cancel that service. It’s such a bad experience. I wished I had written down his ID but unfortunately I didn’t. I won’t recommend this service to any of my friends because they have a confusing website plus the worst customer support team!

    Stay away from this company. There are more reputable companies out there that offer better services. Difficult to cancel. Had to call 3 times and pay membership fees for three months before the cancellation took. No refunds. Waste of money.

    Swindle defined. I signed up for the $25 credit check, which I understood to be a one-time deal. Now I find myself in a $29.95/month “premium membership”, with no way to cancel through the website. Tried calling them, was waiting over 15 minutes on the phone and couldn’t get through. Had to go on my way but I will be calling again.

    It’s no coincidence you can’t cancel through the site, and it’s not coincidence that you’re not emailed about the premium membership, either. The people setting these sites up are the scum of the Internet, bottom feeders scraping up what they can from inattentive and unwitting customers.

    I know how the phone call will go: the CSR will sell me every inch on improving my credit score and will only consider cancelling my account after I repeat “no” umpteen times.

    I tried to use the service and I received an email that my credit card it was declined. I assumed that since I did not finish application they will not do anything. I WAS WRONG. Suddenly I see three charges of 29.95 in two days in my account. About 100 dollars for nothing. I cancelled my account and I am currently on hold listening to pathetic music for an hour, trying to see why I was charged without finishing my account and why I was charged 100 dollars for a month. STAY AWAY no customer service just music.

    AVOID! Throughout the entire sign up process it is advertised as being free, and then as soon as you finish entering your details it charges you $1 enrollment fee! It also told me that I have to call them to confirm my identity, which had me on hold for so long that I had to give up. There is nowhere to cancel the account online, so I have no idea how I’m going to avoid the charge. I will probably have to file a dispute with my credit card company once it posts.

    Wait times on calling are terrible. Finally got a customer service representative who didn’t seem to know the difference between an area code and a zip code, then claimed to have been right the whole time. I had to repeat my information to them three or four times before they finally got it right. I then was asked a customer service survey at the end in which it was unable to understand me when I gave it a negative review. So here is my review…avoid this company at all cost.

    very bad that I can’t cancel my subscription online, if I call I wait for hours for somebody to answer my call.

    it has been 5 days since I was trying to cancel with no answer from them, I have 2 days left to do so otherwise they will start charging me the regular monthly subscription fees.

    I find it shady. My credit card information was taken. I realised I wanted to immediately. I am charged $28 so far. I am trying my hardest to call to cancel before any more false charges are incurred but the number on the website doesn’t work. NOW I DON’T KNOW HOW TO CANCEL. BEWARE!!!

    It is a very shady website. I signed up for it, and wanted to cancel immediately, before any more fees were added, but was required to call up to do so.

    Once I called, it took a few times to indicate that I was wanting to cancel, even though they have a specific menu option for cancellations.

    I’d advise not using this company due to the lack of transparency they have with their business.

    I had entered personal information and then asked for my credit card.. That’s deceptive, and was very disappointing to not know who may have my info… Brenda Hall
